Stuttgart Municipal Water Works is a municipally owned organization providing water and waste water services to the citizens of Stuttgart. Our mission statements are to provide safe affordable water for potable use and sufficient water for fire protection while consistently meeting or exceeding industry standards and practices, and to provide waste water collection and treatment services for the protection of public health and the environment.

Our primary source of water is ground water, with 135 miles of water distribution lines serviced by 5 water towers and two 4 MGD water treatment plants.  We currently have an ISO rating of 2.

Our waste water treatment plant has a design flow of 3.5 MGD and a 48 million gallon EQ basin.  It is a trickle filter plant with tertiary treatment and aerobic digestion which produces Class A EQ sludge after the drying process which can be used as a soil amendment.
